UFC 140
Jones vs Machida
Prediction

Jon 'Bones' Jones has been on an epic run as of late, defeating Shogun Rua and even submitted Rampage Jackson. But, his next opponent is not an easy puzzle to crack. His opponent is Machida, a fighter that can find his range perfectly and utilize his speed and timing to avoid trouble. Machida can go onto the offensive as well as he can defend, just ask Thiago Silva.

However, Bones has defeated the two guys that have defeated Machida (which are Rampage and Rua) and he did it convincingly. With that logic Bones should win, correct? Nevertheless, mma math does not always work that way and on any given night a fighter could bounce back into stardom.

So, lets compare both fighters.......

Jones has incredible reach and a huge size advantage at 6 foot 4. Not only is Jones tall but he has some of the longest arms ever in the light heavy weight division. Jones uses his massive reach to keep attackers at bay and if they charge forward he uses his Greco Roman wrestling to send them to the canvas mat, where he can apply the deadly Greg Jackson elbow. His attacks can come from any angle with frightening speed and power.

Machida has some good weapons as well. He uses his Karate (known as Machida Karate) to find his range and to stay out of his opponent's reach. He is a counter striker, so if you bull rush him then you will be in some serious trouble. He is known as one of the hardest opponents to take down due to his Sumo training and he can deliver some heavy blows in seconds, and he almost finished Rampage Jackson (But Jackson won the first 2 rounds and got the decision).

For Jones to win this he needs to utilize his reach advantage, but don't rush in too early, and do not let Machida find his range. Jones can also use his size advantage to push Machida against the fence and pepper him with knees or even try his luck at taking down the smaller Machida (though this might be difficult for even Jones).

For Machida to win this, he needs to find his range, look for a clear opening and then strike hard without hesitation. Rampage showed good head movement against Jones but he did not let his hands fly when the opportunity arose. Machida needs to dodge and come in quick, then let his hands go to work. Machida can knockout opponents even with straight on punches, but he still needs to use his accuracy to maximize the damage.

Who Am I Picking?

I am going with Jones. Jones' natural body size, in my opinion,  makes him the harder puzzle to crack.

UFC 135 Jones vs Rampage

UFC 135 Jones vs Rampage

UFC 135 will be here on September 24th and pray there are no injuries for this main event, because it will be awesome to see Jones vs Rampage. These are my predictions for the main event.

Some are saying this will be Jone's second real challenge and some are saying his first, since Rua had so much ring rust and maybe or most likely wasn't 100 percent.

Rampage, as anyone knows, can end a fight with a punch and no one has seen how hard really Jones' jaw is. Still, if a flush shot lands from Rampage then it could all be over for Jones in the blink of an eye no matter how hard his chin is.

Nevertheless, that one shot will not be easily landed, since Jones has amazing reach and is able to throw down opponents that get too close, due to his size. But, Rampage will have 5 rounds to land a clean shot, so the odds are higher, but I don't think it will go that long honestly.

My gut says Bones will win this one because Rampage will tire, but Jones will not. I am picking reach and size over power and toughness, and saying Bones, the younger man, will take Rampage down and pound him out.

Once Jones secures the take down power and toughness will not be enough. I could be wrong but I am saying Jones by TKO third round.

And as always, best of luck to both
sportsman!

UFC 133

Its time to get my prediction-face on for the main event of UFC 133. We have Rashad taking on Tito Ortiz (Which was going to be Jones, but Jones pulled out, and then it was going to be Phil Davis then he pulled out, then Machida but he backed out and so Tito was the only one to step up).

Tito just came off a big win over Ryan Bader, and has rarely looked better (which is saying a lot, since Tito has not won since 2006). Nevertheless, Tito has had some close battles where he almost won but this time he says he is 100 percent, so we have take his word on it, for now.

With that said, this is a new era and Rashad is one of the best in the world. Rashad has only one loss in his career and has a draw which came from none other than Tito Ortiz (Tito would have won if he did not grab the fence and obtain a point deduction). Nevertheless, I do not see a younger and quicker (but most likely not stronger) Rashad losing to even a fit Tito.

Rashad is no Ryan Bader, he is at the top of the food chain, a man who has finished Griffin and UD Rampage Jackson and UD Thaigo Silva. There are still too many unanswered questions for me to choose the Huntington Beach Bad Boy.

With all that said, I believe Rashad will cruise to a UD.

But, as always, good luck to both Gentleman!

UFC VERSUS 5

Here are my predictions for UFC VERSUS 5, Hardy vs Lytle!

Who will win the main event? This has to be one of the hardest UFC events to pick. I believe that Hardy is only slightly better at striking than Lytle, but Lytle is a little better at Wrestling and BJJ.

That said, something in my gut says Hardy, who has to win this or he could face termination, since this would be his 4th lost in a row. How can Hardy win? He has to keep it standing and land detrimental shots but he has to keep doing this for 3 rounds. This seems hard, but I believe that Hardy has prepared extensively for the take down and his kickboxing will win the day. Hardy cannot fight arrogantly though with Lytle, and has to keep it tight unless he wants a repeat of what happened to him with Condit. Hardy himself might also try for a takedown if only to keep Lytle guessing.

How can Lytle win, though? I believe Lytle is better at BJJ, but I believe Hardy can survive his BJJ skill set. What Lytle wants to do, is use his Wrestling and boxing to keep Dan Hardy guessing. If he can mix both up really nicely he can keep the outlaw questioning and this will lead to big openings for Lytle.

Nevertheless, I am going with my gut and say Hardy by UD.

Both gentleman will be craving a victory so it should be an awe inspiring match.
Good luck to both Gentleman, and let the best one WiN!

Is Overeem Overrated?

IS OVEREEM OVERRATED?

Is Overeem overrated after his fight with Werdum in the Strikeforce Grand Prix like what Dana White has been talking about?  It remains to be seen, how Overeem would handle someone like Cain or Dos Santos.
Either way, I hope you enjoy this photoshop.

UFC 132 Predictions

UFC 132 Predictions
Cruz vs Faber

These are my predictions for the main event at UFC 132. Dominick Cruz is no joke and neither is Urijah Faber and these two have fought before with Faber ending the match quickly with a deep guillotine. Back then, Faber was the all supreme WEC Feather Weight Champion until Mike Brown and Jose Aldo seized Faber's glory. After the lost to Faber, Cruz however, has been on a long winning streak ( He switched to Bantam at WEC 34: Faber vs. Pulver),  winning his last eight fights and in his sixth fight he defeated Brian Bowles to become the WEC Bantam Champ.

While Cruz was achieving success after his Faber loss, Faber's success was turned into a roller coaster of wins and losses (1 loss to Aldo and 2 losses to Brown ), but recently he has put on two great victories. He won submission of the night Honors against Takeya Mizugaki and won a UD against Eddie Wineland.

For the main event at UFC 132 I am going to give the edge to Cruz. He will be younger and he is more use to the weight class and I am sure that Cruz has learned his lessons on avoiding that submission he got caught with.

These fighters are exciting and Faber could easily win this, but my gut says Cruz.
Cruz by UD.

I wish both gentleman the best
and let the best man win!

Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami UFC RIO

Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami UFC Rio

Who will win this? Suppose your thinking Yushin has a chance after what we saw from a similar fighter (Chael Sonnen) who fought Anderson for the belt? Well, your right, Yushin does have a chance, but he will probably be facing a more prepared Silva with less injuries. Its a tough fight for anyone.

For Yushin to win this, he has to provide pressure, pushing Silva up against the fence while trying to avoid the Brazilian's stand up. Yushin has to survive, score as many take downs as he can in any way he can do it. This is no easy task as Anderson Silva has KO'ed Vitor Belfort in the first round with an odd Crane Kick (Compliments to Steven Seagal).

For Anderson to win this, he wants to keep this fight standing, with his rock jaw and head either absorbing hits or dodging them (preferably dodging them), and look for that KO/TKO finish. I don't think Anderson will go for the take down himself, but if he is taken down I believe he should try to scramble up rather than try to out grapple.

Yushin could cruise to a safe victory, but, I predict a KO Finish in the Third Rnd for Anderson Silva, but it could be sooner, ask Vitor.

Good luck to both gentleman!

Steven Seagal's Front Kick strikes again!

A Photoshop I made that Highlighted one of the Spectacular Front Kicks that happened to Randy Couture.

The same front kick happened to Vitor Belfort, by Lyoto's team mate, Anderson Silva.

Sadly, this was Randy's last fight, a hall of famer, and MMA great!
  Here's to the legend!

UFC 129 Randy Couture vs Lyoto Machida Predictions

UFC 129, which will be on April 30th will have two great legends of the sport face off. One, is known as Capt. America (A.K.A Randy Couture), a Greco Roman Wrestler the other one has a similarity to Ryu from Street Fighter (A.K.A Lyoto Machida) and he has a karate background.

If you have been following mma, your first guess should be that the Wrestling guy will hold the Karate guy down and not let him get back up. But, and if you have been following, you will know that Lyoto is excellent at staying to his feet and if he does get taken down he can literally pop back up. That will mean that both fighters have to keep it standing which is the main strength of Lyoto Machida.

Now, the other major weapon that Randy has is pinning Lyoto up against the fence and he might do that a few times to Machida, but, I don't expect him to keep him there for long as Machida is an escape artist in the ring.
I predict that Machida will KO randy in the second round of the event.

But.... As Always...
Good luck to both of these Gentleman and
class acts!

Brock Lesnar vs Jr. Dos Santos UFC 131

When UFC 113 comes, we have two big heavy weights for the main event, Jr. Dos Santos vs Brock Lesnar after the Ultimate Fighter 13 is concluded. This should be a much watch because it should answer some questions like, has Lesnar's striking approved since he lost his title to Cain and will Jr's wrestling and takedown defense be up to Lesnar's level?

If Dos Santos can keep it standing, this will be his game to win but if Lesnar can use his striking to set up take downs then I see him rolling through the fight with a UD. If Lesnar only tries to go for take downs and does not use any striking then he will be too predictable and sooner or later be TKOed or KOed.

I am going to go with Dos Santos on this fight. He is a natural wrestler and his striking is as good as it gets for a heavy weight. Then again, I can see Brock winning a TKO or UD if his striking has improved!

Good luck to both gentleman and we will see what questions these fighters can answer in the RING!

Rashad Quits Greg Jackson's Gym

Rashad is so mad that Jon 'Bones' Jones challenged him that he is now mad at Greg Jackson as well.

Here are Rashad's words "You can't say you are not going to have anything to do with it when you are a big part of the reason why the situation originated. That's like spilling a glass of milk and then walking away and saying that you don't want to have anything to do with it. You f**kn spilled the milk...so you're at least going to help clean it up right?"

My view is, Greg can't control what everyone of his fighters say and does, and that I think it should be a great match up between Bones and Rashad. I will tell you all who I am picking later!

May both fighters have their best training camps yet!

UFC 128 Rua vs Jones Afterthoughts

Not only did Jon Jones win UFC 128 when he beat Rua, but he chased down a robber who could have been armed with a gun and so Dana called him Jon "Kick Ass" Jones!

So, I reported that Jones would win against Rua and I was correct. Ring Rust and being injured may have effected Rua, but after seeing the fight, I believe Jones would have won no matter what.

In the first round, Jones landed a frightening knee and from there everyting went down hill for the ex-light heavy weight champion. The match ended in what appeared Shogun tapping to lethal strikes.

On another note Faber won his UFC debut against Wineland via UD. Schaub KOed the Crocop into UFC retirement and Marquardt crushed Miller all the way to a UD!

Congrats the winners and those who lost for trying their very best!

UFC 129 GSP vs Jake Shields

No THIS IS NOT WHAT I FORESEE

No THIS IS NOT WHAT I FORESEE

The Photoshop is for humor only. I do not foresee Jake Shields out striking GSP. Jake Shields is at best an average striker with little power in his hands but GSP is a well groomed striker with some power in his hands from what I've seen (although, I have not seen him knock anyone out as of late.)

For George to win this he may want to keep it standing as the grappling-department  is Jake Shield's butter zone, and yes, he appears to be even better at grappling than GSP.

The question is, can Jake Shields take GSP down? It is possible! Jake was able to take down Dan Henderson when he defended his StrikeForce Middle Heavy Weight  belt, so I would say yes.

Nevertheless, its going to be 5 rounds of GSP doing his thing I believe. Although Shields might be able to take GSP 2 or 3 times down, GSP can also force a take down and put up a stand up clinic that only a handful of fighters can defend against in the MMA world.

Remember, Shields is tough and took a solid hit from Henderson and so my reasoning tells me that GSP will cruise his way to a Unanimous Decision victory over Shields!

Also, for questioners, I do not expect to see the the Shields that fought Kampmann to show up, so Shields should be healthy.

Looks like the gay MMA fans will have a great ride! LOL! Just kidding!
Good luck to both fighters in their training camps!

Dan's H-Bomb

Dan Henderson's H-Bomb

This Photoshop is an honor of Dan Henderson's power, a power that he unleashes in his right handed fist dubbed the H-bomb. The H-bomb is a quick right hand that sent Michael Bisping to the Canvas and Rafael Cavalcante from which Dan won the Strikeforce light heavy weight championship.

Zuffa Buys Strike Force

Zuffa Buys Strike Force

Recently, Zuffa, (The corporation who owns most of the UFC), has purchased Strike Force.
Now, you might be thinking that Strike force and UFC might do some Cross-over events and we could see Overeem face off against someone like Cain Velasquez. However, there will be no cross over events (as of this writing), as each business will be doing  "business as usual" as stated by Dana White.

So, we may not see a huge cross over event between these two awesome MMA businesses, but, you never know what will happen down the road. Would a cross over event be a good thing? Imagine if they had a world MMA Belt and Strike Force and UFC fighters fought once every year or six months to obtain it?

Hopefully, this deal will not mean the death of Strike Force though, like Pride for instance.

UFC 128 Rua vs Jones predictions

In UFC 128 we will see Jon Jones face off against Shogun Rua as the main event. Who will win in the main event? Any guess would be a good guess when you have two stars like Rua and Jones facing each other. Will Jones unorthodox style throw Rua off? I don't think so though, since, Rua did not fall for the unorthodox style of Machida and literally beat the tar out of the dragon twice. Jones will have to throw something pretty clever tricks to out strike Rua, which I see him having a hard time doing.

Jones however has a tremendous wrestling advantage as he has taken everyone down so far he has faced. Rua could end up on his back and eat some pretty deadly elbows if he can't rise back up.

Nevertheless, Rua is at his worse after facing an injury and hellish ring rust which Jones does not suffer from. I am going with Jones on this one, saying TKO in the second rnd.

Now, if a healthy Shogun shows up and is not effected by Ring Rust I'd probably choose him, but, I am going with the most likely more healthier, Jones Bones!

UFC Versus 3 Diego vs Kampmann post after thoughts

So, the battle is over but the controversy still remains as what looked like Diego Sanchez got his arse handed to him by Kampmann, who had only a small cut over his eye. In every round, Kampmann out-struck Diego and stuffed multiple take downs. Sure, Diego got some impressive hits of his own off, but not as many as Kampmann who left Diego's face looking something out of a horror film, which coincidentally, Diego starting calling himself the nightmare, but excuse the pun.

Sure, both fighters put on a hell of a show, and each deserved the extra win bonuses, but Kampmann won that fight.

Even as of recent, the judging of UFC has been quite a joke, especially to some Asians like Nam Phan and Riki Fukuda (Can't an Asian brother get any love). Now, I know that Dana can't control the judges but he needs to voice or roar his opinion at every judge and every athletic commissioner!!!!

Brian Ebersole the Clown

Brian Ebersole the Clown

If you saw UFC 127, then you will understand the photoshop. Ebersole, at UFC 127 danced around Chris Lytle, not only popping in and out of submission attempts but started the match out with a cartwheel kick and what looked like he was trying to perform a Ryu Fireball.

At first, I thought Ebersole was not taking the fight seriously, especially while fighting such a renown fighter, Chris Lytle, who was coming off 4 straight wins in the UFC (and the fact Ebersole shaved his chest hair into an arrow).
NEVERTHELESS, he avoided Chris's assaults and in the end took it to the ground to give Chris a beating.
Long live this Clown of MMA!

MMA to New York

I found this Photoshop on the web which
expresses my own feelings about legalizing MMA events

Actually, MMA does exist in New York it just hasn't been sanctioned yet and there is a group called the Underground Combat League in which I must still a quote from fight club and say, "We do not TALK about fight Club."
Now, I don't know much about this Underground Combat league, but someone could get seriously hurt there without a trained referee. For this reasons alone the sport needs to be sanctioned, because when it is sanctioned it is fairly safe especially compared to Professional Wrestling and even US Football has more injuries. Heck, Fishing in a boat has more fatalities than MMA annually. So, its time stop the whimsical nonsense that MMA is bad!
All the sport is doing is weaving many fighting sports together which they all happened to be sanctioned and legal and so should MMA around the world.

Bisping vs Rivera

So, if you haven't been paying attention to the UFC 127 Penn vs Fitch, then you probably don't realize that Rivera has been constantly teasing and poking fun of Bisping. Just look at this video all the way through.

Is Bisping getting a dose of his own medicine after he teased Hendo? A little, but, I seriously doubt that he cares as much as he might seem (like at the UFC 127 fight conference where he was steaming). Let me explain my logic deeper, see, Bisping will look for reasons (no matter what) to get angry at an opponent, and there is no better way to sell a fight.  So yes, Bisping is really angry and yes the stunt draws attention and ratings but that is what Bisping wants, this is what Rivera wants, that is what the fans and Dana want and both should put on a great show. Ahhh, its really a blessing and a great way for the fans to get excited about a fight.

Why is Tito still in the UFC? Because the fans hate him and people will watch to see him get beat up. I don't predict Rivera to win this, but he might need a way to stay relevant at age 38 as of this writing. If he does win, his hands have to connect, which isn't impossible, but Bisping is a polished MMA-boxer and can still deliver decent shots (unless your name is Dan Henderson).

Oh well, goooood luck to both gentlemen!

Dan Hardy said Greg Jackson's fighters are boring

A funny gif of what happened to Dan Hardy when he faced Carlos Condit

Before UFC 120, Dan Hardy said that Greg Jackson fighters were boring and ran his mouth over and over again. To his surprise, Condit (a Greg Jackson fighter) KO'ed Hardy before a live event in London England.

Now, not to hit too hard on Hardy, as he was trying to sell the fight, but, you have to back up your smack talk  and make the fight go longer than what we saw. I am still a fan of Hardy, but tighten up your hands and try not to take as many shots that you have in the past.

If you look at both fighters records at the UFC, Hardy takes more shots than Condit and I think this stems from his cockiness and believing he can absorb any shot.

Good luck to both fighters!

Penn vs Fitch UFC 127

BJ Penn will be facing Jon Fitch at UFC 127, and talk about fighters who are complete opposites. Fitch likes to take people down and try to pound them out or submit them while BJ Penn usually will stand with his opponent. Penn usually finishes his fights while Fitch will usually ends up grinding out a win. Penn is extremely hard to take down while Fitch has taken down many opponents much to their dismay.

For either one to win they must be better than the other at their strengths and not try to get better at the others strengths I believe. Penn must keep it standing and pound Fitch out not try to take Fitch down and risk himself being taken down. Fitch must take BJ Penn down and grind out a victory, cause I don't see him knocking Penn out or outclassing him with kick boxing but maybe he could use some clench work and put Penn against the fence like others have and neutralize his abilities.

So, who can administer their game plan the best should be able to pull this one off. Who will do this?
I am going with Penn, even though Fitch has made many fighters look silly, I believe that Penn's training with Matt Hughes will be enough and along with his entire skill set.

May the best fighter win!

The Decline of Fedor and Arlovski

I made this picture before the Strikeforce grand Prix began, thinking it would be a joke if BigFoot Silva submitted Fedor Emelianenko or dominated him.

Well, after the aftermath of the main event, the image became true right before my eyes, and BigFoot Silva dominated Fedor and nearly submitted him twice. At the end of the second round the doctor called a stoppage to the battle, as Fedor's eye looked almost wielded shut.

Andrei Arlovski may have suffered a worse fate, losing now four times in a row, and now to Sergei Kharitonov in 2:49 of the first round. I believe Andrei Arlovski does not have a jaw to withstand these types of hits anymore.

With this news, I believe its time for these 2 greats to hang up the MMA gloves and support MMA in other ways. Maybe they could both do movies or maybe do a movie together.

GSP vs Anderson "The Spider" Silva

Lets say GSP defeats Shields like he has done to so many opponents and then has to face off against Anderson Silva... What would be the outcome of this fight?? No doubt, both fighters are skilled beyond belief. Both fighters have made other great fighters look silly. GSP made Koshcheck look like an amateur boxer while Anderson Silva finished Vitor Belfort with but a single leg kick.

To say one would ultimately know the outcome might be foolish. GSP has some great wrestling that is tailored for MMA which means he will be able to take Silva down but I do perceive Silva getting back up as he is always training with Machida. Anderson Silva is the more unpredictable fighter but GSP keeps it more tight but if Anderson Silva can throw him off and land punches or kicks it should be over.

I foresee, for GSP to win this, he will have to cruise to a decision (unless he gets that one lucky hit) as he is not known for KO power as other fighters are and Silva has a rock-hard chin and mentally tough as well. GSP could win by playing it safe, using his speed to keep away from Anderson Silva's range and his wrestling to try and put Silva on his back in case Silva starts to connect.

For Silva to win, he has to connect I believe! Though, Silva could win a decision by hurting GSP and weakening him, I think GSP has the right MMA tools to better win the decision. If Silva even connects with one hit it can mean big trouble especially since his attack can come from all angles, and he would elect to go for the finish I believe (Though in some fights he chose to play it safe until the end).

My early prediction is that Anderson Silva would win by TKO in the third round although I could see GSP winning a decision. Remember, if I am wrong, I gave the outcome how I believe GSP could win and it is a clear possibility! It should be a great fight of different styles.

I admire Shields, but, I hope GSP does beat him so we can see this super fight, as Anderson is stated by Dana to fight him next.

UFC 126 Post fight review

Well, UFC 126 ended on Saturday 02-05-11 and with a bang, with a straight kick that flattened out Vitor Belfort in the first round, compliments of Anderson Silva who learned the move from Steven Seagal. During the weigh ins, Silva put on a white mask to stare down Vitor with and that is why I dub him the Phantom of the UFC. I thought Vitor would win because Anderson had to be weakening from his other fights.... Wrong..WRONG WRONG... AND MORE WRONG. The Spider looked better than ever but will he be able to stop GSP, or Shields, if Shields beats GSP??? Probably so....

The fight before the main event was Griffin vs Franklin which I got right exactly, and ended up Griffin overpowering Franklin and Griffin winning the Unanimous Decision.

Next, we have Johnny Jones Bones vs Ryan Bader, and of course I predicted that it wound end in a TKO first round victory for Jones. Nevertheless, Bones won a by Guillotine Choke and then was offered a gift.... Bones will be facing off against Sho Gun Rua, since, Rashad has now been injured.

Rashad must be kicking himself to be seeing his own teammate get a chance at the belt, but, Rashad should have tried to at least fight someone else while Sho Gun was injured (at least to pay the bills if for any thing).

Tim Sylvia no MORE

After less than a minute, Tim Sylvia was destroyed by Abe Wagner and now needs to find a new job. He has gotten fatter, fatter and fatter, even getting KOed by Mercer a boxer past his Prime. Don't take my word, watch for yourself....

For Tim to ever come back to the UFC would be a miracle from god! Was this the same Tim of the Past (and the competition  just got better)  or was the UFC Heavy Weights really this bad 4-5 years ago.
